RUSH concert Sunday Nov 18th The Prodigals

The R.U.S.H. (Restaurants Unite for Sandy Help) Concert
November 18th from 4pm-8pm
@ The Sunnyside Community Services Center
43-91 39th St
Sunnyside, Queens.
(1 minute walk from the 7 train 40th St station) is more than a concert.

Besides having the musical styling’s of LaughJohnLaugh, Walking for
Pennies, Dave Fahy of the Prodigals, Kiirsten Marilyn, Dave Barkow and
DJ Terry, local restaurants and bars will be serving great food and
drink and there will be kids activities, auctions and assorted
raffles.

ALL PROCEEDS are going to the victims of Hurricane SANDY.
 The pricing is as follows:
$10 at the door

Combo Food & Bar Bracelet $15
+ Child Bracelet $5 (under 5 yrs. Old FREE).

5 ways to help after Sandy:
I am hearing more and more stories as the word gets out about the destruction wrought by Sandy and there are people still in the dark, it's getting cold, people we know have lost EVERYTHING.
So I am not able to do a lot but I'm doing a bit and here are 5 ways to assist also... thanks very much.

2> Rockaways: Cavan folks devastated - I am from Cavan originally and my friend Niall Connollys Auntie had her house completed destroyed - here is a campaign to help them back on their feet - it's friends and family rallying around so kudos to our local Muso Niall for putting the word out about this:

3. Long Island has been badly affected and forgotten: don't forget Long Beach - here is a link to support their effort to clean up. There is a fundraiser on December 13th at 8pm under the auspices of Anita Daly whose family has been hugely affected by this cataclysm:  Location KLUB 45 of Connolly's 121 W.45th St, NYC

4. IBO Irish Business Organization will be putting boots on the ground on the Saturday 26th Nov so shovels at the ready.

5. NYC Irish Center in LIC along with the Padded Wagon have beein inspiring in gathering materials and expressing the need of people in the areas they managed to get to help. Please review their website for current needs and collection points.
